IX. How?
How does agnostic
spiritization lead to happiness? Most people
I know do not claim to be able to use their senses and perceptions to gather
objective evidence that leads by valid logical deductive inference to a
scientifically reproducible conclusion that proves or disproves the existence or non-existence of a
divine eternal essence of the existence of one totality. Because our bodies are finite and fragile, our
minds may be simply too limited to comprehend the existence of one totality, analyze all of the
infinite possibilities and provide a definitive answer to the grand enigmatic
questions of identity that follow from pondering the existence of discovery and
mystery. Agnosticism acknowledges this fact. It validates and reassures us that
the existence of one totality is both a discovery and a mystery. Agnosticism frees me to
imagine myth and fantasy based on the existence of discovery and mystery that
produces the most optimistic thoughts, beliefs and expectations about the
existence of one totality. Devotion of my energy, space and time to the most optimistic
thoughts, beliefs and expectations about the existence of one totality produces in my
mind powerful emotional responses of joy, faith and love. These powerful emotional forces
of joy, faith and love balance the powerful emotional responses of sorrow, fear, and
anger that follow from the discovery of the impending disease and death of my seed
body. Balance produces happiness. I think, believe, and expect that a most
optimistic framework of myth
and fantasy about the existence of one totality is true in order to be able to enjoy the emotional and
potential physiological benefits of doing so. However, I do not know that this framework
is true. How does
positivistic spiritization lead to happiness? Positive thinking dictates that I
achieve verification of the truth by using my senses and perceptions to gather
objective evidence that leads by valid logical deductive inference to the scientifically reproducible
conclusion that a given idea about some part of the existence of one totality is
true. I make a clear
distinction between truth based on scientifically reproducible discovery;
myth based on the existence of discovery and mystery; and lies based on
ignorance and denial. I make a clear distinction
between truth, lies, and myth. I reject lies in favor of truth. Upon a foundation of truth and
knowledge of theory based on scientifically reproducible discovery, I build a
most optimistic framework of myth and fantasy about the existence of one
totality based on the existence of discovery and mystery and my house of ideology forms. This then
is how healthy, agnostic, positivistic, nationalistic, spiritization is positivistic; it
leads to a model of the existence of totality that is a positive possibility. My model of
the existence of one totality should contain no lies. My model of the existence
of one totality should not contradict
truth. My model of the existence of one totality should contain scientific ideas that are testable,
provable and disprovable by scientific method and mythological ideas that are not
testable, provable or disprovable by scientific method. How does
nationalistic spiritization lead to happiness? Being happy is an interest, need and
aspiration of most people I know. Most people
want to be healthy, to feel good about themselves, to believe they can exert some control
over their lives, and to expect good things in the future. Most people need and aspire to
be likeable, to care about and be cared for by others, create, survive, perfect, and
revive in a peaceful and nurturing environment. I believe that love of healthy, agnostic,
positivistic, nationalistic, spiritization can provide the emotional balance required to
best satisfy my need and aspiration to achieve and maintain health and happiness. In
as much as I am satisfied so a nation of people that are very similar to me may be
satisfied. Love of healthy, agnostic, positivistic, nationalistic, spiritization is
nationalistic in as much as satisfying the need and aspiration of a nation to achieve and
maintain health and happiness is nationalistic. |
