XXIII.
The Mystery of
Consciousness
Being human and
sharing human qualities with other human beings is the essence of our natural existence in
this world. What exactly does it mean to be human? What all is involved in existing as a
human being? How did humans get to be the way they are today? How are we today? I consider the
qualities and attributes that we as human beings share. We and all the earths’ diverse
flora and fauna have seed bodies that in a material sense are our personal
homes. We live
our lives in our seed bodies. We are alike in this respect. My body is a cooperative of
cells that has grown together for the purpose of mutual survival. This arrangement of
cells in the form of a body has been time proven to give the whole a better chance of
obtaining the energy, and materials necessary to survive and multiply within our ever
changing environment. A tremendous amount of energy and material is necessary to create my seed body. My mother and father provided much of the material and energy that my growing seed needed to feed and develop into my body. At birth, my parental guardians assisted in the development of my body until I had grown sufficiently to be self-reliant. I see this sort of nurturing behavior throughout the natural world. What is most striking is the cooperative nature of the interaction between members of a family. Amongst humans, the family is the focus of intense feelings, thoughts and often life long relationships. The family unit serves as the cornerstone of communities of human beings. Cooperation serves
to satisfy collective human desires to obtain the energy, and materials necessary to
survive and multiply. What exactly is involved in obtaining these? Water flows in the
stream. Fruit grows on trees and vines. Animals are domesticated and farmed. Grains are
cultivated and harvested. Our environment is self-perpetuating. Our sun is
self-perpetuating. To obtain these sources of concentrated nutrients we call food requires
senses to detect the presence of a fruit tree, a fatted calf, or a kernel of wheat. To
obtain food, we need bodies that allow us to move about the environment, capture,
domesticate, cultivate, harvest, prepare, and consume other life forms. Millions of
calories of nutrition are obtained by destroying the bodies of countless other life forms
in order to create our human bodies. We destroy to create. We create to destroy. We require a
body with senses to locate food and evade destruction by predators. The mind is born out of this need to feed the growing living body of cells. The mind provides information about the environment such as the location of food. I believe my body creates possibilities for thoughts, feelings, and actions that I call the unconscious mind. I believe my soul selects those possibilities for thoughts, feelings, and actions that will manifest as my conscious mind and will. My conscious mind and will allow for the voluntary control and application of my body. Without a conscious mind, I believe my body would be unaware of it's own presence, unaware of it's own condition, and unaware of the surrounding environment. To expand further
on the hand in glove like relationship of divine eternal soul and fractal infernal
temporal seed body, imagine precisely how and at what point interaction might occur.
Scientists theorize that our universe is composed of various kinds of energy existing in
space and time. Through painstaking observation, characterization, and classification of
these various kinds of energy, scientists have uncovered laws of cause and effect of great
value in explaining events in the universe around us. Scientists have discovered that much
of this energy can be broken down into infinitesimally small particles known as sub atomic
particles. Sub atomic particles are of special interest: because these appear to behave in
many respects in a manner best described as being probable and possible. Probable and
possible behavior described as the quantum mechanical nature of sub atomic particles
provides a foundation of discovery. Upon this
foundation of discovery may be built a framework of myth to explain how chaotic events on
such an infinitesimal scale come about in one way rather than another. The central nervous
system is composed of greater than a trillion-trillion atoms. I believe my divine
eternal soul is at work in this realm of probability and possibility ordering events to
influence the future condition of my fractal infernal temporal seed body. These atoms
interact with one another and combine to function as a chaotic dynamic system. Scientists
have discovered that the future conditions of chaotic dynamic systems are sensitive to
minute changes in starting conditions. Tiny changes in the initial
conditions of a chaotic dynamic system can lead to large differences in the future
conditions of a chaotic dynamic system. Scientists find these differences to be
unpredictable in a chaotic dynamic system as complex as my fractal infernal
temporal seed body. I believe my divine eternal soul spirit finds these large
differences caused by tiny changes to be predictable in a chaotic dynamic system
as complex as my fractal infernal temporal seed body. Depending on the concentration and way
divine energy is devoted to ordering conditions of the sub atomic space time of a fractal
infernal temporal seed body, tasks accomplished by a divine eternal soul spirit might
include guidance of consciousness, healing of disease, age reversal, resurrection from
death, perhaps even immortalization of a seed body. I may only
speculate as to why the latter three tasks do not manifest. One possibility is that my
divine eternal soul is unable to perform these tasks. Maybe in this particular
universe, a fractal infernal temporal seed body receives a divine eternal soul with
just enough energy to direct consciousness, and perhaps in sleep effect limited healing. Another possibility
is that my divine eternal soul is unwilling. My divine eternal soul may have full access
to the powers of the infinite divine eternal one yet may not be willing to intervene on
behalf of a seed body that was never meant to live beyond its normal life cycle. Maybe survival of my divine eternal soul
is independent of the survival of my fractal infernal temporal seed body, and
intervention is simply unnecessary, and unimportant. Maybe it is also possible
that my divine eternal soul is both unable and unwilling or neither unable nor unwilling
because my divine eternal soul is merely the will of self generated by my seed body. Here
again I leave the distillation of truth about the origin of the will of self to science.
Some may theorize that free will originates in the seed body. I believe free will is
result of a divine eternal soul ordering the sub atomic chaos of a mind in a fractal
infernal temporal seed body that lives and dies. Both theories are myths. With the tools
available, science is quite incapable of completing the task of determining whose theory
is actually correct. I choosing the myth about the origin of the will of self that is
consistent with my goal of producing the most optimistic thoughts, beliefs, and expectations about
the existence of one totality; and thereby best
satisfying my need and aspiration to achieve and maintain health and happiness. Therefore, I choose
to think, believe, and expect that my divine eternal soul exists and yet like my body
is limited in quantity of energy. Do I invent this
divine eternal soul so that I may produce powerful emotional responses of joy,
faith and love that balance the powerful emotional responses of sorrow,
fear and anger produced by discovery of
my body's impending doom, or is it upon the infinite divine eternal one that amateur
psychologists presume? Does the fractal
infernal seek and find the divine eternal because the divine eternal seeks and finds the
fractal infernal? I say that perhaps in seeking the fractal infernal temporal seed body,
the soul spirit found the emotional balance to divinity eternal. I say it may be true that
there can be no gladness without sadness, and there can be no anger without fear.
I think, believe and expect that life is a synthesis of fractal, infernal, temporal seed body and divine eternal soul spirit. This
synthesis of life creates a range of emotional possibilities. This range of emotional
possibilities creates entertainment. I believe in continuous communion between body and universe. I believe in temporal communion between body and soul. I believe in continuous communion between soul and spirit. Thoughts, feelings, and actions happen as a result of an order some call consciousness that I believe is imposed by a divine eternal soul upon the chaos of an unconscious mind created in a body that lives and dies. I believe the meaning of life is living and the purpose of living is enjoyment of entertainment. The truth is there
is no proof, and the proof is there is no truth. So how do I know? I do not know. I
believe because I choose to believe. It makes me feel glad to think, believe,
and expect that I am alive and always will be alive in the love and freedom of an infinity
divinity eternally one. |
